Ithra is on a mission to inspire, create and educate. They encourage visitors to embrace change through art, science, literature and innovation and in doing so, unlock human potential.
Located in Darhran, and built on the site of Saudi Arabia’s first oil well, Ithra opened its doors to visitors in 2018. However, whilst paying tribute to the opportunities and wealth afforded by the discovery of oil, its focus is on a different energy source – the energy of humans.
The iconic building covers over 80,000m2 and features a number of attractions and areas for visitors to explore. This includes a library, the 18-floor Knowledge Tower, Idea Lab, Energy Exhibit, a museum, a cinema, a 900 seat theatre, the Great Hall as well as a children’s museum.
What’s On
Ithra is currently open, and they have introduced enhanced measures to ensure you can visit safely. Experiences currently open include:
- Ithra Museum
- Ithra Library
- Energy Exhibit
- Indoor workshops
Each of the above are limited to 20 people at any one time in order to maintain social distancing. In addition, restaurants are open, but for takeaway only.
