Covid-19 guidelines for live events in Dubai – what you need to know

Dubai authorities recently announced new Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions for live events, including a requirement for all attendees to be fully vaccinated.

As Covid-19 rates continue to drop across the United Arab Emirates, the good news is that entertainment venues across the city are now able to operate at 70% capacity. The maximum number of attendees at indoor events is 1,500, and for outdoor events it is 2,500.

Within venues, social distancing remains in place, with physical distance reduced to two metres, and the wearing of masks continues to be mandatory.

Importantly, the new Covid-19 guidelines state that all attendees at events must be fully Covid-19 vaccinated*. Ticketholders will be required to show proof of vaccination on arrival at the venue.

Acceptable forms of proof of vaccination are:

  • AL HOSN App
  • DHA App
  • Printed Dubai Health Authority Vaccination Certificate

All tourists and visitors to Dubai must show their government issued vaccination certificate.

Both doses of the vaccine must have been administered, and the corresponding period for immunity completed. Details of those immunity periods are below.

  • AstraZeneca: 15 days after second dose
  • Pfizer: 2 weeks after second dose
  • Sinopharm: 28 days after second dose

Please note that these restrictions apply to all attendees at an event, not just the ticket purchaser.
