Splendour XR: the world’s first virtual music festival
Splendour in the Grass presents Splendour XR, a worldwide virtual reality edition of your favourite Australian festival. Tickets are on sale now!
Splendour XR will hit your screens on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July. Available on mobile, tablet, browser, desktop and virtual reality.
When COVID-19 made it impossible to experience live music in person, the Splendour team went to work. Now they’re getting ready to flip the switch on the world’s biggest virtual festival.
Totally different from anything you’ve seen before, Splendour XR combines technology and art with more than 50 musical artists. A true virtual experience held over two unforgettable days.
The lineup will include artists from the worlds of indie-rock, pop, hip-hop and dance, as well as some unique collaborations. Featuring the world’s biggest artists alongside today’s hottest Australian acts.

How does it work?
Single day tickets and two day tickets are available. You can also get a XR Party Pack and create your own party at home.
You will be able to build your virtual self and move through a recreation of Byron Bay, where Splendour is traditionally held. And just like being at the festival, you’ll build your own schedule. Move from stage to stage to see your favourite artists, while virtually meeting other festival-goers along the way.
Splendour XR has been created in collaboration with San Francisco-based market leaders in social virtual reality, Sansar.

Along with music, art, and festivals, XR will also focus on some more serious topics, including fundraising for workers in the live music industry, mental health, wellness, and sustainability.
Splendour XR will include an online medical center to help any customer struggling with their mental health in this COVID world. And XR is committed to managing emissions and creating a clean and green platform with a minimal carbon footprint.
